There are various things to consider when deciding if you should manage a remote team.
First, hire a virtual assistant if you are at a stage where you cannot reach your goals if you do not acquire help. Many times as a leader of a business, we are so busy and are doing it all. We cannot get all the tasks done that are needed to be done because we are working too much in our business, not on our business. Hiring a virtual assistant can help take some of the pressure off of you.
Another reason to manage a remote team or hire someone is that you are lacking the skills needed to get your business to the next level. Outsource what you are not amazing at to someone who is so that you can focus on what you need to get done.
Manage a remote team if you are not as energized by your business anymore. As a leader, we are doing so much work that we often get so tired of it and do not perform to our best ability. Hire a virtual assistant or team to get a new perspective from someone who is ready and eager to work. A fresh eye is always a smart way to move forward in your business.
Lastly, it is time to manage a remote team if you are willing to put the effort in to develop your skills as a leader. Understand how to lead a team and put one together. How to build a team involves the capability of actually doing the work to find your team. Can you handle it?

Before you manage remote teams, gain some clarity on what you are going to achieve. “Can’t hit a target that you cannot see.” Figure out what your objective is and start with the end goal in mind. Think to yourself, “Where am I going and what is that gap between where I am and where I need to go?” After, find out who will help you get there. Maybe hire a virtual assistant or build a team.
This tactic will help develop define what the role is and what the responsibilities are for the team member. Starting at the end helps clarify expectations from the beginning and helps decide what type of individual you need for the role. Doing this will strategically put them in a place to provide a successful outcome when managing remote teams.
HOW TO BUILD A TEAM THAT CAN SUCCESSFULLY ACCOMPLISH PROJECTS
How to build a team that you can trust is important for the success of your business. It all starts with you as a leader. As a leader, you need to only maintain control of what you actually have the power to control. If you do a good job delegating, you will be less stressed to give out the task when managing a remote team. Follow a process before you hand it off so that you can be confident that they can do the task correctly.
The more you organize and put in the time, the more you will be setting your team up for success. They will be more confident and prepared as you outline what you want to be done. Putting in the effort prior as a leader is how to build a team that is trustworthy.
HOW TO BE A GOOD LEADER THAT KNOWS HOW TO BUILD A TEAM EFFECTIVELY
How to build a team greatly involves being a strong leader first. A good leader creates visions, influences others, can listen, and has patience.
Overall, a strong leader can accept blame and give out praise. When managing remote teams, they are a reflection of you. It is not smart to blame your hires for wrongdoings as you were supposed to be the one mentoring and training them. Find out what the problem is and solve it instead of blaming others. You should also be willing to praise correctly executed tasks when hiring a virtual assistant or managing remote teams.
With that being said, a large mistake many leaders have is the need to be liked by the team. How to build a team that respects you involves drawing a line between boss and friend. A good leader provides guidance and knows when tough conversations need to be had. Do not constantly be worried about what your team thinks of you. Being strong and focusing on the most important issues is how you build a team that respects you.
